The Postgraduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship is the entry-point postgraduate coursework qualification requiring completion of three units from the following:  INOV801, INOV802, INOV803, INOV806 and ACCG827.  The program's aims and objectives are to provide participants with the understanding and skills sufficient for them to make decisions about their future involvement as entrepreneurs or as members of an early-stage entrepreneurial venture.

These units equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for commercialising and marketing new ideas. Many researchers and inventors have brilliant ideas but lack the skills needed to bring these ideas to market. These units will help students appreciate how this can be done within various entrepreneurial projects. This knowledge will be useful to students in developing their own intellectual property and for students who might act in an advising or consulting capacity.

Who is it designed for?

The Postgraduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship has been designed for students across all discipline backgrounds, aspiring to develop skills and expertise in new enterprise creation and innovation. Our units will target those wishing to start new initiatives or business ventures, those responsible for developing innovative new divisions within established corporations, or those serving as change agents in corporate or not-for-profit environments. The units are, in most cases, offered as early evening delivery.

In addition the units are available as options within other postgraduate coursework programs and as non-award enrolments.

Program length

MII's Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship can be undertaken on a part-time basis and completed within a 12-month period.

Entry requirements

Students seeking direct entry into the Postgraduate Certificate should possess an undergraduate degree. (Those who have experience equivalent to a first degree and wish to enrol should contact MII for advice.)

When will the program units be offered?

MII's Certificate program is specifically targeted at recent graduates or those already in the work force. Therefore the units are, in general, being offered as early evening delivery. The semesters at Macquarie University are of 13 weeks and the commencement dates for 2007 are 26 February 2007 and 30 July 2007.

Program structure
