Macquarie Institute for Innovation is proposing to offer a "Master of entrepreneurship" program commencing in 2008. The master proposed will be a 32-credit point postgraduate masters from the Macquarie Institute of Innovation combining coursework with a mentored and supported major project developing a fundable proposition for a knowledge-intensive venture. The 32-credit point masters consists of six units of coursework (4-credit points each) plus a 8-credit point major project. It builds on the coursework base defined within the Graduate Diploma in Entrepreneurship. The coursework requirement is to satisfy the conditions of the graduate diploma while the remaining 8-credit points are based on production of a business plan for a knowledge-intensive venture. The program's aims and objectives are to provide participants the basis on which they could confidently establish, attract funding for, and run, a new knowledge-intensive venture.

The Masters is targeted at recent graduates entering either directly from a first degree or attending on a part-time basis whilst working. However, the major project is intended to be done full-time.

The coursework units will be from a list that ranges from underpinning fundamentals to specialist topics of relevance to creating, managing and growing successful ventures marketing knowledge-intensive products and services.
