Undergraduate Units
The Macquarie Institute for Innovation offers two undergraduate units available as options with degree programs across the university.
INOV101 Enterprise is available with no pre-requisites to all Macquarie students (in particular first year students) as a computer-based self learning set of 12 modules which are available on-line. The unit will be offered in both semesters one and two, and during the Winter Vacation as an intensive 4 week course. Tutorials will be available weekly for support.
Assessment is with the following tasks:
- Learning summary for 2 of the modules (400-500 words each, worth 10%)
- Learning summary for a further 4 modules (400-500 words each, worth 20%)
- Problem solving exercise based on learned knowledge (1000 words worth 20%)
- Business plan evaluation exercise (2000 words worth 50%)
INOV301 Technology Entrepreneurship is a third year three credit point option. Enrolment requires a completed Application for Special Approval (please see the unit description for information on enrolment).
INOV301 has a focus on entrepreneurship in which technology and innovation are used as key elements of the identified opportunity. Although it is of most direct interest to science, technology and IT students, it offers insights of value for all backgrounds.
